The Philippine has the trifocal education system; these are the hierarchy structure of bureaucracy of formal organizations in the government with different mission and vision. The melancholy part is the direction of these organizations to alleviate the unemployment problems in the country. The looming unemployment dilemma result to the slow down of the economy, there are massive retrenchment in the different part of the country and frail support to the education system. Now, the new government is in the stand of command to dictate the direction of the education system, it remains trifocal system as of this writing but then again, its not the trifocal system problem but the think tanks behind it.
We need to improve the educations system in the different part of the Philippine region; there are parts of the Philippines that are still leaving like nomads. These people could not read and write as far as literacy is concern. The basic education starts at the very young age and in between gaps of diddling their time in studies there must be an incubation system to train and shape the skills of these students. It is inevitable that education today is glued to commercialism practiced by some public and private schools. There are mushrooms of colleges, universities and training centers in the Philippines, yet the quality of education given to the students is far off compare to the neighboring asian countries. The Political system is one of the reasons also that impedes and choked the projects intended to manpower and youth development trainings.
Had the Philippine government imposed a stern policy for human resource and academe orientation to Technical industry then it’s not possible that our students in different academes could get a descent job here and abroad. The trifocal education should emphasize the importance of Technical skills and knowledge that is the practical way of applying in the real technical jobs in various industries. First, the Higher Education department must study and analyze the trends of the technical jobs in various industry and give focus to the most saleable and marketable human capital to the global market. On the other hand the training centers must handle the vocational courses in straight forward trainings and avert redundancy of requirements. The trifocal system is good, but we need to focus in a hierarchy structure of the higher education with out doing its own entity just to impress each other. The best way is to put all these departments in one structure of education and create a sector of application.
The extension studies of post graduate students must serve as sharp researchers in their own turf with export quality of education to compete with the American and European studies. It is better to avert redundancy of agency service, like putting up departments with congruency of tasks to the other department’s, it’s a matter of using the clusters or segments to have direction of tasks in one box.
Skills and knowledge is part of the training, it is the meat of the education system. The more we sharpen the minds of the students, the chances they could get the right ticket to the best technical jobs in different industry.
